Shoes & Dancewear
For your convenience, we are currently working on an online store for you to order dancewear and shoes. They will be competitively priced with the discount store shoes and MUCH better quality! Until we have our site up and running, you may purchase dance wear at Target or Walmart and Payless carries ballet and tap shoes. Jazz, hiphop and other “specialty” shoes can be purchased at Prima Bodywear located at 123 North College Avenue in the Opera Galleria building in Fort Collins.
Dress Code
- Preschool Combo, Dance & Tumble, and Level 1 Classes - leotard, tights, and pink ballet shoes. Preschool Combo and Level 1 Tap/Ballet also need tap shoes.
- Ballet - Leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, and hair pulled back in a bun or neat ponytail or braid so that it is off of the neck and securely fastened. Skirts are optional, and at the discretion of the instructor.
- Tap - Leotard, tights, form fitting dance pants or shorts and tap shoes with good taps. Hair must be fastened neatly and securely away from the face.
- Jazz, Poms, Lyrical - Leotard, tights, form fitting dance pants or shorts, and jazz shoes for jazz and poms, and foot undies for lyrical and modern. Hair must be fastened neatly and securely away from the face.

Registration & Sessions
We have “ongoing” sessions and open enrollment at A Dance Place. This means that once you are registered, you remain registered until you opt to discontinue or until the Spring Recital. Tuition is charged on a monthly basis, however, if you begin a month, you are billed for the entire month. Students beginning in the middle of the month, however, will receive prorated tuition for their first month.
Tuition
You have 3 options in how to pay your monthly tuition. The first two options give you the best tuition rate while the third option allows more flexibility but tuition is a little bit higher.
- Recurring Payment Plan (Monthly Payment by EFT) – your monthly tuition amount will be automatically debited from your checking or savings account, on the 1st of each month;
- Semesterly Payment Plan – your session tuition amount will be payable September 1st for months September – December (4 times your Monthly tuition amount) and January 1st for months January – June (5 1/2 times your Monthly tuition amount)
- “Flex” Payment Plan (Pay monthly by cash, check, or submit a 1-time payment online and get the flexibility of a due date on the 20th of each month. A monthly service charge of 10% on Tuition Rates is assessed for this option that allows for a more flexible due date. (e.g. $4.20 fee on a $42 tuition rate or $46.20)
* August tuition (1/2 monthly tuition amount) is payable upon registration through the online registration system to reserve your spot in the class, regardless of which tuition option you select.
Please note, tuition is charged on a monthly basis regardless of the number of classes in a month (i.e. some months have 5 classes and some months such as December may have only 3). Tuition is the same each month with the exception of August & June, which is 1/2 the regular tuition rate these months. Recurring Billing customers must notify the Business Director in writing via email by the 25th of month prior to which you wish to withdraw your student and stop the recurring billing. A credit toward future classes is available for those who withdraw mid-month after tuition has been processed or for those who pay semesterly and withdraw prior to the end of the semester. A Dance Place does not offer refunds.
Class Absences
Makeup classes are available if students miss class due to illness, emergencies or bad weather. Prorated tuition or “pay per class” is not available. Please ask your instructor for a suitable makeup class. Occasionally, instructors will also miss class due to personal emergencies or bad weather, in which case every effort will be made to find a suitable substitute. In the case a suitable substitute cannot be found, class may be canceled with a makeup class scheduled at a later time. If you cannot attend the scheduled makeup class for any reason, you can attend another class for a makeup, but prorated tuition nor refunds will be issued. No exceptions.
In the case of class cancellations due to instructor emergencies or bad weather, I will post such news on the website, send all affected students an email, and leave a voicemail message on the studio telephone line.
Communication
A Dance Place communicates virtually 100% via email. Please add “directors@adanceplace.com” to your address book and make sure we have a current email address for your family on file. Also, please check your email frequently (this includes your junk mail, in case your Email provider puts my messages in there) as important information regarding upcoming events and your dance account will be sent to the email address on file. Lastly, notify the Director, Farrah Dobbins, immediately if you are not receiving studio emails.
Schedule
A Dance Place will close for the following holidays:
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Week (Tuesday – Friday only, Monday classes will be held)
- Christmas Break
- Spring Break, Windsor Studio - Dates TBD
- Spring Break, Eaton Studio - Dates TBD
- Spring Break, Greeley Studio - Dates TBD

Visitors
In order for all students to receive the best training possible, the teacher must have their complete attention. Visitors, including parents, are not allowed inside the dance studio but are welcome to observe class via the observation window. Other children/siblings are welcome in the waiting area if they can choose a quiet activity. Rough play and rowdiness is welcome outside and not appreciated inside the building.
Performances
We hold at least 2 performances per year: an informal Holiday Open House in December for students to showcase what they’ve learned to their family, and a spring recital held in June at the Union Colony Civic Center Monfort Theater in Greeley. Please see the News & Events Page for specific dates and times for each of these performances.
We truly THANK YOU for your business and look very forward to meeting our new students and reacquainting with our returning students.
