If you love to sing, dance and perform, we want you!  Come be a part of A Dance Place’s musical production of The Addams Family!

Casting

For this production we have two casts separated by age to give younger students more opportunities at larger roles and older students the chance to advance their skills.

Junior Cast ages 9-13

Teen Cast ages 13-18

EVERYONE planning on attending the casting day should register for either the “Junior Cast” or the “Teen Cast” class on the Addams Family Page.  All students registered before or on January 23rd will receive an email with all the audition materials in advance that include an audition form, a short dance routine, a vocal audition and slides to prepare from the script.  Auditions will be held February 4th at our Greeley “Garage” location.

Rehearsals will continue every Saturday until our performance in May!

Junior Cast: 9:00-11:00 (Ages 9-13)

Teen Cast:  11:00-1:00 (Ages 13-19)

Everyone gets a part!

There are many parts available including lead roles and ensemble, both of which are very important in creating an amazing production!  We work hard to get all cast members as much valuable stage time as possible!  

Rehearsals

Rehearsals begin Saturday, February 4th. The Junior cast will rehearse on Saturdays from 9:00 AM-11:00 Am and the Teen Cast will rehearse Saturdays from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM.  All rehearsals will be held at A Dance Place at the New Greeley Location (6380 W. 10th Street Unit 9).  Students can wear athletic attire to casting and rehearsals.

Performances

At this time our show is scheduled for Friday, May 26th for our Junior Cast and Saturday, May 27th for our Teen Cast at the Union Colony Civic Center.  Our typical performance days include a morning dress rehearsal, a matinee performance and an evening performance.

Cost

To participate in our musical production of The Addams Family it will be $85 a month (February-May) via our auto-pay system. The cost covers all rehearsals, vocal instruction, choreography, script rental and the main details of the student’s costume.  Additional expenses include basic elements of students costume and tickets into the show which will aid in production costs such as royalty fees, props, technicians, venue, etc.  Please contact [email protected] or call our office at 970-590-9530 with any questions.

MUSICAL THEATER COMPANY

Musical Theater Company is a program designed for students looking to advance their musical theater skills!

This year A Dance Place’s Musical Theater Company will include Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hit musical “In The Heights”!  Company members will also take the stage in our fall production of Matilda Jr., our Christmas performance of Scrooge and our upcoming spring musical.  Company members can look forward to Master Classes as well as workshops with professionals in the theater industry!  These students will get hands on training in vocals, dance, acting, and auditioning.  Students will be prepped for professional theater and college program auditions and gain experiences to help them be successful in however they chose to pursue musical theater.  Monthly Cost is $175 a month September-May.  This covers the following:

  • Headshots
  • Company Jacket  (For new students. Will be open for purchase for returning students)
  • Weekly Class for the fall and spring musicals
  • Weekly Company Class
  • Workshops and Master Classes
  • Production “Coming Soon”
  • Production of Scrooge
  • Everything included with being in 4 musicals!

Rehearsals

Company class will start September 10th, 2022 and will be held each Saturday from 1:00-3:00 PM at the New Greeley location (6380 W. 10th St. Unit #9).  This time frame will include Musical Theater Training, Master Classes, Rehearsals for Scrooge and rehearsals for In the Heights.  Since we are doing the full versions of Scrooge and In the Heights, some students may be asked to attend additional rehearsals. These times will be worked out in advance.

Audition Information

Since our Musical Theater Company includes a more intense training experience, this is an audition only program.  We want to make sure we are setting our students up for success and are seeking students with a strong passion for musical theater and a desire to learn!  These auditions give our students a positive and valuable experience that will help them to move forward in the industry.
