Performance Troupe

Are you interested in performing in front of people?

Performance Troupe may be just what you’re looking for! Performance Troupe is a group of students that want to take their dancing to the next level, beyond just a class or two a week.  We welcome everyone!  They perform at a variety of community and sporting events throughout the year, including:

  • Harvest Fest & Light the Night Parades
  • UNC and High School Basketball Games
  • HipHop Madness 
  • Northern Colorado Children’s Festival
  • StarPower Dance Competition in Denver

Our Studio’s goal is to build confidence and esteem in our students, while instilling a love of dance that will last a lifetime, and Performance Troupe is an extension of that philosophy.  We achieve this mission by opting into events where students gain performance experience, receive applause, and leave them feeling accomplished and proud.

What are the requirements for Performance Troupe?

We place students in the Troupe we feel is best suited for them based on their age and ability.  ALL Troupes require an attendance commitment to classes and performances!

Pearl Troupe

  • 1 Ballet, 1 Jazz & Performance Troupe class

Emerald Troupe

  • 1 Ballet, 1 Jazz, 1 Elective & Performance Troupe Class

Opal Troupe

  • 1 Ballet, 1 Jazz, 1 Elective & Performance Troupe Class

Ruby Troupe

  • 1 Ballet, 1 Jazz, 1 Elective & Performance Troupe Class

Sapphire Troupe

  • 1 Ballet, 1 Jazz, 2 Electives & Performance Troupe Class

Diamond Troupe

  • 1 Ballet, 1 Jazz, 2 Electives & Performance Troupe Class

Performance Troupe Cost will include the following

  1. Performance Troupe Camp (required), held in August
  2. T-Shirt for parades & events
  3. Tuition for Performance Troupe class
  4. Entry Fee to 1 Competition for 2 dances
  5. 2 Costumes
  • Additional Costs would include: Tuition for required Technique Classes
  • Because the Performance Troupe rate is inclusive of many fixed expenses, it is ineligible for multi-class discounts referenced on the Tuition page.
  • Audition Registration fee is $50 and would go towards your September Tuition. This is to ensure that those who audition are ready to make this team commitment. This fee is non-refundable.

Competition Team

Being a part of A Dance Place’s Competition team is a self-esteem building, energetic and priceless learning experience. You will be amazed by how much your child will accomplish and learn in this program.

We are different than other competition teams! Our purpose is to be an encouragement at competitions as well as present clean, uplifting pieces. This team takes pieces to Denver 4 times per year to compete as well as participate in weekend long conventions. This team is for the more committed dancer and therefore has more requirements.

You must be in Performance Troupe to be on the Competition Team. You may choose to only participate in Performance Troupe if you wish.

What are the requirements for Competition Team?

We place students in dances that we feel is best suited for them based on their age and ability.    Being a part of our Competition Team requires an attendance commitment to classes and performances!

Ages 4-6
  • 1 Ballet, 1 Jazz, Performance Troupe Class, & Competition Class
  • Be able to attend all scheduled Competitions and Conventions held around January through May
  • Attend 1 Convention
Ages 7-12
  • 1 Ballet, 1 Jazz, 1 Elective (Tap, Lyrical or Hip Hop), Fundamentals of Ballet Class, Dance and Technique, Performance Troupe, and Competition Class
  • Must Take a Summer Ballet Class, Summer leaps and turns class and our Ballet Intensive in August.
  • Be able to attend all scheduled Competitions and Conventions held January through May.
  • Attend 1 Convention
Ages 12 and up
  • 1 Ballet, 1 Jazz, 2 Elective classes (Tap, Lyrical or Hip Hop), Fundamentals of Ballet Class, Dance and Technique, Performance Troupe, & Competition Class
  • Must take at Summer Ballet class, Summer leaps and turns class and our Ballet Intensive in August.
  • Be able to attend all scheduled Competitions and Conventions held around January through May
  • Attend 1 Convention

What is included with our Competition Fees

  • Includes:
    1. Tuition for Competition class
    2. Choreography/Extra Rehearsals
    3. Entry Fees to 4 Competitions
  • Tuition for required technique classes is additional
  • Additional expenses may include a Team Warmup and Convention Fees 
  • Because the Competition Team rate is inclusive of many fixed expenses, it is ineligible for multi-class discounts referenced on the Tuition page.
  • Audition Registration fee is $300 and would go towards your Convention Fee. This is to ensure that those who audition are ready to make this team commitment. This fee is non-refundable.

Solo and Duet/Trio 

You must be on the Competition Team and competing in at least 2 routines in order to compete a solo and/or duet/trio. 

includes competition entry fees, choreography & rehearsal fees and access to the studio for private rehearsals upon request.  The fees are in addition to required class tuition and Performance Troupe fees.
